Origin of Drummer's Day in Chile
Drummer's Day in our country is celebrated on July 25 in memory of the birthday of the great Gabriel Parra Pizarro , legendary drummer from Los Jaivas . This anniversary has been celebrated since 2013 and its purpose is to highlight the work of the percussionists of our country.
Gabriel Parra Pizarro is considered one of the best drummers and percussionists that Chile has had in its entire history. His charisma and technique were praised a thousand times both here and abroad.
Parra Pizarro, died on April 15, 1988 in a car accident in Paipa, 380 km south of Lima, Peru.
