Every May 11, the Student's Day or Student's Day is celebrated throughout Chile ; a special date that seeks "that students can develop debates about educational issues, as well as instances of reflection and be able to develop critical thinking."

Origin of the Student's Day in Chile
Student's Day is commemorated on May 11 because it was so ordered by the government through Decree 147 of 1992 of the Ministry of Education. This day recalls the publication of another decree; the supreme 524 of 1990 of the Ministry of the Interior, by which a new version of the regulation was approved that allowed secondary students to form student centers.
Pupil's Day is celebrated in colleges, high schools and schools, generally, by means of a ceremony with all the teachers and students. It is tradition that during this day internal competitions and recreational activities such as artistic shows and sports games are organized.
Likewise, many institutions also organize shared meals where everyone collaborates with a specific food, a drink or even a dessert and snacks to celebrate Student's Day in Chile . Generally, this day is a type of holiday for students as there are no classes.
On the other hand, from the beginning of the 20th century until a little more than the beginning of the 70s, in Chile the Day of the Students was celebrated, also known as the Spring Festival , which was organized by university students.
